Child Custody

In child custody, one of the many policies of the State of North Carolina is to encourage parents to share in the rights and responsibilities of the care of their children, regardless of their marital status. Parents are urged to promote the best interest of their child by engaging in respectful, effective communication, compromise and cooperation in all matters related to child-rearing.
Child custody includes issues surrounding visitation and the modification of an existing child custody and/or visitation order.
